about

"Can't bring back the days I've wasted, all the time I sat here waiting"

'Surface' is a bit different from my previous albums. I tried to make a rock album that kept the pace up throughout. I did not include any acoustic guitars, which is new for me. Its all electric and synthesizers.

The overarching theme is that of being in a place of uncertainty and trying to decide how I take those steps to bring me some clarity and build a life for myself.

Its a very honest record and the end message would be to keep moving, keep trying, and you will find where it is that you are supposed to be.

Track Name: Walls
I didn’t know anything
About where I was going
I looked you in the eye and told you such a lie of intrigue
But I’m searching deep inside; I’m crawling from the fire; it’s burning

No points of entry
Can take me far enough
I’ll tell you what I think, nothing that I’ve seen gives me answers
But the farther I from the flame, I extricate myself, I’m brighter

These four walls hold me back
Tear them down, start again

Please take back your sympathy
It turned around and haunted me
Far from replete, I’m a journey incomplete
I’m wandering, still wandering
These walls are brick and mortar, but I’ve got something stronger
Won’t break me, can’t break me
Far from replete, I’m a journey incomplete
I’m staggering, still staggering
Still searching deep inside, finding all my pride
I’m battling, still battling

These four walls hold me back
Tear them down, start again
These four walls hold me back
